Overview
The Alpine Androsace is perfectly adapted to the alpine climate, in fact his conformation low protects from the wind and a provision allowing the carpet to absorb heat from the soil, hair starred leaves allow it to capture the air so as to isolate it from abrupt changes in temperature that can occur in the mountains.
Habitat
Macereto, rocky debris, moraines, sfasciumi.
Where found it
In Valle d'Aosta you can find a quote between 2500 and 4000m in the areas of Gran Paradiso, Piccolo San Bernardo and Monte Rosa.
How to recognize
It is a herbaceous plant very low and branched (1-5cm) and is grouped densely Fogliati cushions in more or less compact. The leaves are covered with hair starred. The flowers are pink or white to soft pink with a yellow ring in the mouth.
