Corippo is a little village standing on the left side of the Verzasca valley, and it is reachable thriugh a narrow road.

It is the village with the lowest number of inhabitans (17 only!!) of all Switzerland.
The first written record of this country "Culipo" is a testament of 1224. In 1411 appeared as one of the municipalities that are subjected to Amadeus VIII of Savoy, like other lands of Verzasca valley. In the sixteenth century was part of the "vicinia" teams together with the other villages of with St. Bartholomew, small Vogorno, Big Vogorno and Fontobbia, which basically covered the entire lower valley with the exclusion of the lands of Mergoscia. Between 1803 and 1822 it was designated as municipality of Vogorno-Corippo; after that time it became a separated municipal entity. Later there was the separation of the nobility, the first documents of this new entity is dated 1885.
