Turns 'Giroparchi Nature Trail 2015': registration open for the English-language trek to discover the parks of the Aosta Valley
Fondation Gran Paradis is organising, from 6 to 10 July 2015, the third edition of the 'Giroparchi Nature Trail', a nature trek in the territory of the Gran Paradiso National Park and the Mont Avic Nature Park, aimed at young people from Valle d'Aosta and dedicated to getting to know the protected areas and learning English.
The enthusiasm shown by the young people and families in past editions has confirmed that the formula of trekking to get to know the rich biodiversity of the parks, combined with the practice of English, is a winning one: the first two editions were in fact a growing success with the public, involving 14 youngsters in 2013 and 41 youngsters in 2014.
'Giroparchi Nature Trail' is reserved for teenagers aged between 11 and 14: the aim is to introduce them to the richness and importance of the biodiversity of the park areas of the Aosta Valley and, thanks to lessons completely en plein air, to learn how to share these experiences in English.
The group will be accompanied by two professional English speakers (a hiking guide and a language teacher) and an entertainer. Along the way, activities and games in the language will be offered, to acquire skills in a participative manner.
There are 20 places available, 15 of which are reserved for young people resident in the 9 municipalities of the Gran Paradiso National Park and Mont Avic Natural Park: Aymavilles, Champdepraz, Champorcher, Cogne, Introd, Rhêmes-Notre-Dame, Rhêmes-Saint-Georges, Valsavarenche, Villeneuve. The remaining 5 places are available for young people from Valle d'Aosta who live outside these municipalities.
