The Pitturina Ski Race changes date. Michele Festini 'We had no other choice, the Pitturina will be run on 1 March'.
The decision was made in the last few hours, "Unfortunately," said Michele Festini Purlan, president of the Spiquy Team, "we have waited in vain for the latest weather forecasts to give us some more reassuring indications, but in the next few days it is almost impossible for it to snow in our mountains. We have been thinking about an alternative solution to cancelling the race for some time now, as the season has been stingy with snow. The federal calendar does not allow for a big move without overlapping with some other race. We have carefully considered every possible alternative, but the only possible date is 1 March. Unfortunately, on that weekend there will be the World Cup race in Val Martello and the Ski-Alp Val Rendena, we have already informed the respective Organising Committees and apologise for the intrusion".
As far as the programme of the days preceding the start of the race is concerned, everything has been postponed to the last days of February.
