On Sunday morning, after 1:14'54'' of racing at the finish line in Col Indes, four people lined up to finish the second stage of the 32nd Transcavallo, a team ski mountaineering competition named after Corrado Azzalini. The two teams of the Centro Sportivo Esercito, Matteo Eydallin-Damiano Lenzi and Manfred Reichegger-Michele Boscacci after running the entire race together decided to cross the finish line at the same time. Behind them, just over a minute and a half later, came Denis Trento and Tadei Pivk on the third step of the podium.

They were followed by Filippo Reichegger. In fourth place were Filippo Beccari and Martin Weisskopf, while Davide Pierantoni and Michael Moling finished in fifth place.
In the women's race there was confirmation of the team formed by Laura Besseghini and Elena Nicolini. The winners stopped the stopwatch with a time of 1:32'32'', with Martina Valmassoi and Katia Tomatis in second place. The podium was completed by Cecilia De Filippo and Birgit Stuffer. Corinna Ghirardi and Federica Osler took fourth place, while Elisabeth Bonetto and Sylvia Berghammer took fifth. As anticipated at the technical briefing on Saturday evening, the second stage of the Transcavallo took place in difficult weather conditions. Strong gusts of wind, low clouds and a heavy snowfall forced the organisers to redesign at first light the route that would decide the winners of the 32nd edition. A shorter route that unfortunately did not reach the summit of Monte Guslon, which was made impassable by poor visibility and strong winds.
In total, there were just over ten kilometres to cover, with 1385 metres of positive height gain to be tackled over two climbs.
In addition to the 32nd Transcavallo, which benefited from the important collaboration of two leading companies in the world of ski mountaineering such as Karpos and Scarpa, Sunday morning saw the Benito Saviane Memorial, a race reserved for the Cadet categories, and the Ernesto Mazzoran Memorial reserved for the Junior categories.
Daniele Soppelsa (Dolomiti Ski-Alp) won among the Cadets, behind him Edoardo Favaretto (Dolomiti Ski-Alp) and Marco Padesi (Montanaia Racing). In the junior category it was Enrico Loss (Sc Valdobbiadene) who won ahead of Fabio Pettinà and Matteo Cuel, both wearing the colours of Sci Cai Schio.
. Among the girls, victory went to the Italian ski mountaineering champion Alba De Silvestro. Mara Martini and Laura Corazza were second and third respectively.
In the Master's category, Manfred Holzer and Thomas Koller won, with Fabio Della Pietra and Ivan Lozza finishing behind them. On the third step of the podium were Michele Agostini and Fulvio Giovannini.
Once again, the Organising Committee had to change plans in the course of the race to ensure the smooth running of the race, but above all to guarantee the safety of all the competitors and the numerous volunteers, over one hundred, along the course. This weekend, which was plagued by adverse weather conditions, was an excellent test in view of the forthcoming international Transcavallo events. The Organising Committee will know at the end of the month whether the bids for the 2016 World Cup and the 2017 World Championships will have been accepted by the International Federation.
