Abele Blanc, born on 2 September 1954 in Aosta, is a leading figure on the Italian and international mountaineering scene. An Alpine guide and Nordic ski instructor, he has dedicated his life to the mountains, achieving extraordinary goals. Between 1992 and 2011, Blanc climbed all fourteen peaks exceeding eight thousand metres, becoming the 22nd mountaineer in the world to achieve this feat.
