On 4 December 1925, Lino Lacedelli was born in Cortina d’Ampezzo, Lino Lacedelli, a great Italian mountaineer known for a number of significant ascents in the Dolomites near his home and, above all, for being the first to reach the summit of K2 alongside Achille Compagnoni.
